Ok, so today was the day I felt I'd best get organised for the trip! With hockey being snowed off I've had a bit of free time on my hands, but thankfully the snow is clearing now.
We were all in London last week for the briefing session - finally got to meet my companions for the trip and find out some details about what we'll be doing! Exciting (and just a little bit scary) stuff! Information overload on the train back up! We'll be travelling around Madhya Pradesh in central India visiting pre and post intervention areas to understand the work that WaterAid do, and why the fundraising we do is so important....so the big day is February 16th when we fly from Heathrow....is it wrong that the thing I'm most scared about is potentially meeting chickens on the train from Delhi to Bhopal - total bird phobia - seriously!
I'm down to just one jab left too, which is good news as I've spent the last few weeks feeling like a pincushion at times! Malaria tablets sorted too so I'm all good to go from a medical point of view - just a few other things to still sort out, but that's nothing new for me! If I was organised I'd be worried!
So the task of this week is more research about the areas we are going to.....
Documenting my visit to India with WaterAid in February 2013 - to witness first hand their fantastic work and to see why it is so important to support them....

Introduction!
Okay, so about 6 weeks ago I filled in an application form - to go to India with WaterAid on their annual supporters visit. I thought I had little chance of success so you could say I was rather surprised to get a phonecall offering me a place on the trip! Added to that we were trying to deal with one or two floods at the time so I don't think it had time to sink in!
So a bit about me I suppose....I'm Framework Manager for Lumsden & Carroll Civil Engineering on the Yorkshire Water R&M Framework and I've been involved with WaterAid for about 2 years, representing a number of YW contractors on the WaterAid committee.
